As some of you already know, right at this moment I am enjoying my family and friends in my hometown, Los Mochis, Mexico. My goal is to enjoy as much as I can here, enjoy the sunny days on the beach, sunsets and exquisite dishes which I do not have the privilege of tasting in Portland.
Lat weekend we went to eat at one of the most famous restaurants in China-Cantonese food. I think luck really favored us because we did not need to wait for a long time without being assigned a good place. My oldest daughter was amazed of how well the waiter was treating us and she said: "It seemed he read your mind, Mom, because he brought you additional chicken broth without knowing that you truly love the fat-free chicken broth." Indeed, the waiter treated us wonderfully.
I really believe that when people have a good heart, it is not hard to connect with their customers and it's like they read our minds. They can fully see the needs and tastes of their customers. This modest young man did not need to have a masters degree in marketing in order to gain the sympathy of my daughters and I. There is no human being in this world who doesn't need to connect his/her heart with the rest of humanity. This goes as well for us as a service applicants. Without exaggeration, I must confess that I always get very good service almost everywhere I go. When I least expect it, life surprises me with a very enjoyable event. That is why today I want to share three tips to foster and maintain a good heart. 1. - Practice kindness, 2. - Use simplicity, 3. - Bring out your good mood.
1. - The kindness. - Is very important to treat employees as we would like to be treated ourselves. Many times we had a hard time and we take it out on the first encounter. Kindness is like a delicate perfume that is perceived kilometers away, practice it, it's worth it!
2.- Use simplicity. - There's nothing that irritates me more than people pretending to be another person they are not. When we are simple-hearted as a child is, the universe will open doors to favor us wherever we are, no doubt about it. Let's try it!
3.- A good sense of humor. - Is very important that we say jokes or phrases that are soft and never sarcastic. Some times I used my sense of humor without expecting anything from others and that's when I've received more great surprises. Just when we were leaving Portland last week, I had to change seats to be able sit next to my 11 year old daughter. I walked over to the window and said quietly: "Give me anywhere, but please do not leave without me." They switched us to first class seats. The gentle humor without much exaggeration, is always very welcome! :)
I guarantee that if we apply these three tips, every single day in our lives, we will triumph in any situation that life brings !
Have a fantastic week!
